Let's Talk About Race Obama

Let’s Talk

So Obama wants to have a discussion in America about Race, by which he and Rev. Wright and the Ophrah Wynfreys of the world mean let's talk about the evil of the White man, let's talk about the White Devil who is wholly responsible for every evil thing that has befallen the Black man.

Let's talk about the warty humanity of the White man in word and tone that paints the White man as the Snow White Miriam of the human race.

Well, let's start with slavery. It's the biggest bone of contention between Blacks and Whites in America, and a sin in our nation that can not be denied.

Let's start with a country where the laws said, until they were changed, it was o.k. for 15% of its population to be held as slaves, and the percentage of slaves was probably higher than that at times. Let's talk about a country where fully 80% of those slaves were denied even the most basic rights such as education. Let's talk about a country named Mauritania.

SAY WHAT?

That's right, Mauritania. Yes, it's in Africa, on the west coast.

Let's talk about the ancient tradition of slavery in Africa that still continues TODAY, that was outlawed in Mauritania not in the 1880's but in the 1980's and still continues TODAY.

Let's talk about slavery in Mauritania that was outlawed not 10 years before the American Civil War, not 10 years after the American Civil War, but a full 115 years AFTER the American Civil War.

Don't believe me, do you? Well, you can read about Mauritania's slavery, a sanitized version of it, in an article in the Washington Post from a day ago written by Nouara Boustany entitled "One Man's Personal Mission To End Slavery in Mauritania."

Not far into the story you come across the following:

"The ancient tradition of slavery endures in Mauritania, although it was officially abolished in the 1980s. There are roughly half a million slaves among the country's population of 3.3 million, and at least 80 percent do not have access to a formal education, Messaoud said. Many remain illiterate."

Further, let's talk about the "ancient" tradition of slavery in Africa that started as long ago as the 9th century AD and continues to this day. Google Slavery and Mali and Sudan and Niger, Togo, Benin, and Ghana and learn that the "ancient" tradition exists TO THIS VERY DAY!

I suppose this is Snow White Miriam's fault as well. That is what the Rev. Wrights of the world have hatefully led a portion of Black Americans, self-loathing Whites Americans and damn-fool politicians like Obama to believe.

And NOW let's talk about slavery and the American Civil War and claims that Whites have never done anything to atone for the sin of slavery and compare it to what you now know of the sin of slavery that still continues to this day in Africa.

The total free population of the US in 1860 was 27,489,561, and the total slave population was 3,953,760. That's about 14% of the population.

The total number of slave owners listed by county in the 1860 census was 393,975. That means that just 1.43% of the free population of the entire country, which was almost exclusively White, actually owned slaves.

And the Civil War produced between 620,000 and 700,000 casualties, the vast majority of whom were White, and the majority of whom were Northerners.

The economy and wealth of the South, built upon slavery, was obliterated by the War which was the scene of most of the battles like the one at Petersburg, Virginia, on June 18, 1864, where the 1st Maine Heavy Artillery sustained a "record" loss of the war in a charge that resulted in the loss of 635 of its 9oo men within seven minutes, and had such events as Sherman's March to the Sea.

What was left of the South was then picked over by carpetbaggers.

Now, even the most vengeful God created in the darkest recesses of the human mind would put those numbers on the side of the scale called atonement.

Now you know why some Americans, Black and White, and non-Americans of all races who have taken the time to survey the full span of human history and the full spectrum of sins in world history actually do understand why some would proudly say or sing God Bless America.

Now you might understand why some Americans, Black and White and Red and Yellow, who have lost loved ones fighting to keep the hope that America, at her best, represents in the fight against sin in all the world might be offended when a man of God spits from the pulpit in the House of God "GOD DAMN AMERICA."

And having talked about Race and slavery and sin, Obama, can you now understand why some Americans question your judgment as you snuggled up to the chancrous and carbuncled mentality that would lead a man of God to spit out "God Damn America" to a joyously receptive congregation, as a man of God, a shepherd of the Lord, would forgo preaching the truthful Good News of God and replace it with the hateful rumors of men?

Hasn't a portion of the Black community in America zeroed in on the mote in the eye of Snow White Miriam and ignored the plank in its own eye?

Yes, I agree, Obama, let's talk.
